Step preview

  1. Add egg and milk to a clean small bowl
  2. Mix then set aside
  3. Fit max blade to kCook bowl
  4. Add unsalted butter, salt, icing sugar and all purpose flour to the kCook bowl
  5. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  6. Attach lid to kCook bowl with filler cap fitted
  7. Blend with filler cap fitted until crumbs form - 15 sec, speed 9
  8. Scrape
  9. Blend - 5 sec, speed 9
  10. Transfer egg mixture to kCook bowl
  11. Blend with filler cap fitted until dough forms - 20 sec, speed 9
  12. Transfer content of kCook bowl to work surface
  13. Wrap with plastic wrap
  14. Chill in fridge - 20 min
  15. Pre-heat oven - 160°C
  16. Roll out on lightly-floured surface until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  17. Transfer pastry to tart pan
  18. Prick
  19. Chill in fridge - 15 min
  20. Line with parchment paper
  21. Fill with pie weights
  22. Bake - 12 min, 160°C
  23. Remove pie weights
  24. Brush with egg
  25. Bake until golden brown - 2 min, 160°C
  26. Let cool
  27. Clean kCook bowl
  28. Fit whisk tool to kCook bowl
  29. Add egg, caster sugar and all purpose flour to the kCook bowl
  30. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  31. Attach lid to kCook bowl
  32. Whisk with filler cap removed - 30 sec, speed 5
  33. Whisk with filler cap removed - 2 min, speed 8
  34. Add milk and vanilla extract to the kCook bowl while machine is running
  35. Cook with filler cap removed - 10 min, 98°C, speed 6
  36. Let cool
  37. Transfer content of kCook bowl to pastry
  38. Chill in fridge - 20 min
  39. Decorate with mixed berries
  40. Brush with apricot jam
  41. Serve
