A classic Caribbean side dish. Don't be confused by the name, in Jamaica peas are kidney beans. We have used ground allspice although allspice berries would be better, so if you can get them use 5 allspice berries instead.

Step preview

  1. Fit stir tool to kCook bowl
  2. Add canned coconut milk, water, onion, fresh thyme, scotch bonnet pepper, salt, ginger, canned red kidney beans and allspice to the kCook bowl

  5. Cook with filler cap removed - 5 min, 98°C, speed 2
  6. Then add long grain rice to the kCook bowl
  7. Cook with filler cap removed - 25 min, 94°C, speed 1
  8. Remove the chilli and the thyme stems
  9. Serve
