Kladdkaka is a classic Swedish chocolate cake that's rich, gooey in the middle, and crisp on top. Similar to a brownie with a deep chocolate flavour and a sticky texture. It’s super simple to make with just cocoa, butter, sugar, eggs, and flour. Best served with a sprinkle of icing sugar, whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The name literally means "sticky cake" - and it lives up to it!

Step preview
- Preheat the oven – 180ºC
- Grease the bottom and sides of the tin with butter and dust with cocoa powder
- Line the bottom of the tin with parchment paper
- Sift the ingredients into a bowl and set aside
- Fit the Whisk Tool
- Add the ingredients into the appliance bowl
- Whisk until light and fluffy – 2 minutes, speed 2
- Then add eggs gradually while the machine is running
- Whisk until smooth – 1 minute, speed 2
- Then add the flour mixture
- Whisk until combined – 1 minute, speed 1
- Transfer the mixture into the tin evenly
- Bake until a skewer inserted comes out clean – 15 minutes, 180ºC
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely
- Chill in the fridge – 1 hour
- Serve
