Scones are wonderful served with strawberry jam and some clotted cream. If you can't get clotted cream, some whipping cream whisked to firm peaks will do just as well.

Step preview

  1. Add all purpose flour, baking powder and caster sugar to a clean small bowl
  2. Mix carefully until combined
  3. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  4. Transfer content of small bowl to kCook bowl
  5. Fit midi blade to kCook bowl
  6. Add unsalted butter to the kCook bowl
  7. Attach lid to kCook bowl with filler cap fitted
  8. Blend with filler cap fitted until fine crumbs form - 1 min 55 sec, speed 9
  9. Then add milk and egg to the kCook bowl
  10. Blend with filler cap fitted - 1 min 30 sec, speed 5
  11. Transfer content of kCook bowl to lightly floured surface
  12. Roll out until 1" thick
  13. Cut out into rounds
  14. Transfer content of lightly floured surface to baking sheet
  15. Let rest - 5 min
  16. Pre-heat oven - 210°C
  17. Brush with egg yolk
  18. Bake - 5 min, 210°C
  19. Bake - 10 min, 180°C
  20. Let cool onto cooling rack
  21. Dust with icing sugar
  22. Serve
