Not authentic but still delicious! This double cheese naan has a kick of chilli- a great accompaniment to any curry dish.

Step preview

  1. Attach Spiral Dough Tool
  2. Add dried yeast and water to the Kenwood Bowl
  3. Let rest - 5 min
  4. Add bread flour, natural yogurt and salt to the Kenwood Bowl
  5. Mix - 2 min, Speed 1
  6. Mix - 8 min, Speed 2
  7. Cover with kitchen towel
  8. Prove - 1 hr 30 min
  9. Add mozzarella cheese, garlic clove, cilantro, cheddar cheese, green chili and salt & pepper to a clean small bowl
  10. Stir with tablespoon until combined
  11. Carefully transfer the dough from the Mixer bowl to a lightly floured work surface
  12. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces
  13. Gently pull the edges into the centre
  14. Roll the dough over and shape into a ball
  15. Flatten the dough carefully with your wrist
  16. Roll out the dough out into an oval shape until they no longer spring back, about 30 cm in length
  17. Spoon some of the cheese mixture from the small bowl onto half of the dough
  18. Fold the top edge over to the bottom to encase the cheese mixture
  19. Place the dough onto a floured surface and roll out again into an oval shape
  20. Add another spoonful of mixture and fold over and roll out again, so the dough has 2 layers of cheese
  21. Repeat with the rest of the dough pieces
  22. Transfer the naans to a baking tray
  23. Cover with oiled plastic wrap
  24. Prove - 30 min
  25. Pre-heat oven - 230°C
  26. Remove the plastic wrap from the naans
  27. Brush with ghee
  28. Sprinkle with nigella seeds
  29. Bake - 10 min, 230°C
  30. Serve
