Step preview

  1. Attach the Whisk
  2. Add milk, water, dried yeast and caster sugar to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 10 sec, Speed 3
  5. Cook with splashguard fitted until sugar has dissolved - 10 min, 30°C, Speed OFF
  6. Add bread flour and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl gradually while machine is running
  7. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined then scrape bowl - 30 sec, Speed 5
  8. Prove with splashguard fitted until bubbles form - 1 hr, 30°C, Speed OFF
  9. Add butter to a clean frying pan
  10. Heat in frying pan - medium heat
  11. Place the ring moulds in the pan
  12. Transfer content of Cooking Chef XL Bowl to ring mold
  13. Cook until set - 12 min
  14. Carefully remove the ring moulds and turn the crumpets over
  15. Cook until lightly browned - 2 min
  16. Transfer the crumpets to a plate
  17. Repeat the same process with the remaining batter
  18. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  19. Attach the Stir Tool
  20. Add sugar and water to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  21. Cook with splashguard fitted until sugar has dissolved - 2 min, 160°C, Stir 1
  22. Cook with splashguard fitted until thickened - 16 min, 180°C, Speed OFF
  23. Then add butter to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  24. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 30 sec, Speed Min
  25. Then add banana to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  26. Mix with splashguard fitted until coated - 1 min, Stir 3
  27. Heat with splashguard fitted - 10 min, 85°C, Speed OFF
  28. Add milk, sugar, ground cinnamon and egg to a clean small bowl
  29. Stir until combined
  30. Dip each crumpet into the egg mixture, soaking them on the side with holes
  31. Pre-heat a clean frying pan - medium-high heat
  32. Add butter to the frying pan
  33. Once the butter is foaming, transfer 3-4 soaked crumpets to the pan
  34. Cook until golden brown - 3 min
  35. Transfer the cooked crumpets to a serving plate
  36. Cover with plastic wrap then set aside
  37. Repeat the process with the remaining crumpets
  38. Top each crumpet with the warm caramelised bananas from the Cooking Chef Bowl XL
  39. Serve
