A quick and simple pesto pasta which is perfect for packed lunches or picnics. Serve with baby tomatoes, toasted pine nuts, fresh basil leaves, olive oil, salt and pepper.

Step preview

  1. Assemble the Food Processor attachment to the machine
  2. Fit the knife blade to the Food Processor bowl
  3. Add fresh basil leaves, garlic clove, pine nuts and parmesan cheese to the Food processor attachment
  4. Attach the lid and ensure it is locked into place
  5. Blend until smooth
  6. Add olive oil to the Food processor attachment while machine is running
  7. Blend until combined then set aside
  8. Attach the Stir Tool
  9. Add water and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  10. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  11. Cook with splashguard fitted until boiling - 1 min, 110°C, Stir 1
  12. Then add pasta to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl carefully
  13. Cook with splashguard fitted until just cooked - 15 min, 110°C, Stir 1
  14. Drain and reserve liquid
  15. Transfer content of Food processor attachment to Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  16. Transfer the cooked pasta and the reserved pasta water back into the Cooking Chef XL bowl.
  17. Cook with splashguard fitted until coated - 2 min, 60°C, Stir 1
  18. Transfer pasta to large serving bowl
  19. Garnish with cherry tomatoes
  20. Top with pine nuts
  21. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese
  22. Serve
