Step preview

  1. Add the ingredients into the warming bowl, fit the splashguard
  2. Heat - 10 minutes, heat setting 6, speed Off
  3. Transfer into a medium bowl and set aside
  4. Clean the warming bowl and fit the Dough Tool
  5. Add the ingredients into the warming bowl, fit the splashguard
  6. Knead - 5 minutes, speed 2
  7. Gradually add butter while the machine is running and knead - 5 minutes, speed 2
  8. Add the content of the medium bowl
  9. Knead – 5 minutes, speed 2
  10. Remove the Dough Tool and the splashguard
  11. Prove - 1 hour, heat setting 2, speed Off
  12. Transfer the dough on a lightly floured work surface and divide into 16 equal pieces
  13. Gently pull the edges into the centre of each piece of dough and form a balls
  14. Cover with a tea towel and let rest - 10 minutes
  15. Place the formed dough in the individual cases
  16. Prove until doubled – 2 hours
  17. Preheat the oven - 200ºC
  18. Brush the dough with beaten egg and place in the oven
  19. Bake until hollow-sounding when tapped – 16 minutes, 200ºC
  20. Remove the cakes from the oven and insert skewers through the base of panettones
  21. Suspend upside down to cool, stopping the dough from collapsing
  22. Dust each panettone with icing sugar
  23. Serve
