These crumbly biscuits are coated in pearl sugar. These are popular in northern Germany where they are often served over the festive season.

Step preview

  1. Fit the K-Beater
  2. Add the ingredients into the appliance bowl, fit the splashguard
  3. Mix - 2 minutes, speed 2
  4. Divide the dough into four equal pieces
  5. Roll each piece into a log about 3cm across
  6. Coat each log in sugar and wrap in plastic wrap
  7. Chill in the fridge – 30 minutes
  8. Preheat the oven - 175ºC
  9. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper
  10. Cut the dough into 1cm thick slices
  11. Place the slices on the baking tray and cover
  12. Chill in the fridge – 10 minutes
  13. Bake until pale golden – 15 minutes, 175ºC
  14. Remove from the oven and let cool
  15. Serve
