Merge two classic British dishes into one with this recipe. Serve this for a festive season dinner with steamed green vegetables and plenty of gravy. You can make the batter and wrap the sausages up to 12 hours ahead and chill separately. Any leftovers can be kept in the fridge for 2 days and reheated in the oven, just make sure the sausages are hot all the way through.

  1. Preheat the oven - 220ºC
  2. Add oil into the baking dish
  3. Place the baking dish in oven to heat up

  7. Wrap each sausage in a slice of bacon
  8. Place the sausages in the hot baking dish and roll in the oil to coat
  9. Roast until starting to brown, turning halfway through - 15 minutes, 220ºC
  10. Carefully pour the batter into the dish around the sausages
  11. Bake until puffed and deep golden brown - 25 minutes, 220ºC
  12. Serve
