This brilliantly pink homemade sorbet is perfect for a dinner party. You can swap the vodka for gin or leave out the alcohol altogether. For a fantastic shade of pink use pink forced rhubarb.

Step preview

  1. Fit the Stir Tool
  2. Add the ingedients into the appliance bowl, fit the splashguard
  3. Cook until the rhubarb softened - 10 minutes, 100ÂșC, speed Stir 3
  4. Remove the bowl from the machine and let cool
  5. Once cool, remove the star anise pods
  6. Transfer the rhubarb mixture into the Blender attachment
  7. Blend until smooth - 1 minute, speed 5
  8. Then add the next ingredients
  9. Pulse until combined
  10. Pour the sorbet into a plastic container and cover with a lid
  11. Chill in the fridge until cold
  12. Freeze overnight
  13. Serve
