Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 200°C
  2. Line a clean baking tray with parchment paper
  3. Attach the Creaming Beater
  4. Add butter and water to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  5. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  6. Heat with splashguard fitted until just boiling - 2 min, 104°C, Stir 1
  7. Then add bread flour to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  8. Heat with splashguard fitted until thick - 2 min, 104°C, Speed 3
  9. Mix with splashguard fitted until smooth - 2 min, Speed 1
  10. Add egg to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl gradually while machine is running
  11. Mix with splashguard fitted until glossy - 2 min, Speed 3
  12. Transfer mixture to piping bag
  13. Pipe mixture onto baking tray
  14. Bake until golden brown - 25 min, 200°C
  15. Remove from oven
  16. Use a skewer to make a hole in the base
  17. Bake until dry - 5 min, 200°C
  18. Remove from oven and let cool
  19. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  20. Attach the Whisk
  21. Add whipping cream and icing sugar to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  22. Mix with splashguard fitted until peaks form - 2 min, Speed Max
  23. Transfer cream to piping bag
  24. Cut the choux buns in half, using a serrated knife
  25. Pipe cream onto pastry
  26. Place the top of pastry back on
  27. Dust with icing sugar
  28. Serve
