Making your own pastry in the kCook Multi is quick and easy, just follow this recipe which also details how to line a tart case and blind bake. Use this recipe with our Quiche Lorraine recipe. Uncooked pastry can be stored in the fridge for up to three days, or frozen for one month and you could freeze it in the tart case ready for baking another time.

Step preview

  1. Fit midi blade to kCook bowl
  2. Add plain flour, salt and butter to the kCook bowl
  3. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  4. Attach lid to kCook bowl with filler cap fitted
  5. Mix with filler cap fitted - 1 min 30 sec, speed 7
  6. Add water to the kCook bowl
  7. Mix with filler cap fitted - 1 min, speed 7
  8. Transfer content of kCook bowl to work surface
  9. Knead lightly
  10. Wrap with plastic wrap
  11. Chill in fridge - 20 min
  12. Grease and flour a clean tart pan
  13. Remove the chilled pastry from the fridge
  14. Roll out until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  15. Transfer content of work surface to tart pan
  16. Prick
  17. Chill in fridge - 10 min
  18. Pre-heat oven - 190°C
  19. Remove the chilled pastry from the fridge
  20. Line with parchment paper
  21. Fill with baking beans
  22. Bake - 12 min, 190°C
  23. Remove the pie weights and parchment paper
  24. Brush with egg
  25. Bake - 3 min, 170°C
  26. Remove from oven and let cool
  27. Use
