Step preview

  1. Fit thick slicing disc (5) to direct prep attachment
  2. Fit direct prep attachment to kCook Multi
  3. Fit midi blade to kCook bowl
  4. Add plain flour, salt and unsalted butter to the kCook bowl
  5. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  6. Attach lid to kCook bowl
  7. Mix with filler cap removed - 30 sec, speed 7
  8. Then add water to the kCook bowl
  9. Mix with filler cap removed - 1 min, speed 7
  10. Transfer pastry to work surface
  11. Knead lightly
  12. Wrap with plastic wrap
  13. Chill in fridge - 20 min
  14. Place pastry on lightly floured surface
  15. Roll out two thirds until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  16. Line the tart tin with the pastry
  17. Pre-heat oven - 190°C
  18. Turn direct prep attachment to position 2
  19. Slice apple into a clean medium bowl with direct prep attachment
  20. Add caster sugar and ground cinnamon to the medium bowl
  21. Stir until combined
  22. Transfer apples to tart tin
  23. Take the remaining one third of the pastry
  24. Roll out until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  25. Place the pastry on top of the apple filling and press the edges to seal
  26. Make a small incision in the pastry lid
  27. Brush with egg
  28. Bake - 45 min, 190°C
  29. Remove from oven and let cool - 10 min
  30. Serve
