Step preview

  1. First, make the cake
  2. Preheat the oven - 180ºC
  3. Grease the tin and line with parchment paper overlapping the edges
  4. Fit the K-Beater
  5. Add the ingredients into the appliance bowl
  6. Mix and then scrape down the bowl with a spatula – 5 minutes, speed 3
  7. While the machine is running, add eggs, one at a time and mix – 1 minute, speed 3
  8. Then add the following ingredients
  9. Mix – 30 second, speed 1
  10. Add the next ingredients
  11. Mix – 1 minute, speed 1
  12. Transfer the batter into the tin
  13. Bake until golden brown – 30-35 minutes, 180ºC
  14. Remove from the oven and let cool
  15. Now, make the vanilla frosting
  16. Add water into a saucepan and simmer – medium-low heat
  17. Add the ingredients into a heatproof bowl and place over a saucepan
  18. Heat, stirring regularly, until the mixture is around 60ºC or hot to touch – 5 minutes, medium-low heat
  19. Clean the appliance bowl and fit the Whisk Tool
  20. Carefully transfer the egg and sugar mixture into the appliance bowl
  21. Add the next ingredient
  22. Whisk – 1 minute, speed Max
  23. While the machine is running, gradually add butter and whisk – 10 minutes, speed Max
  24. Spread the frosting evenly over the cake
  25. Decorate with rainbow sprinkles
  26. Serve
