A shrub is a fruit-based vinegar syrup that is used in drinks and cocktails. Mix this one with lemonade and crushed ice for a refreshing drink or mix with ginger ale and spiced rum for a delicious cocktail. Put the shrub in a sterilised bottle and store in the fridge for up to 1 month.

  1. Fit the Knife Blade (or Max Blade for kCook Multi)
  2. Add the ingredients into the appliance bowl, attach the lid with the filler cap
  3. Blend until finely chopped - 1 minute, speed 12
  4. Then add water
  5. Heat until the apples have softened - 10 minutes, 60°C, speed 3
  6. Let cool slightly
  7. Then add vinegar
  8. Mix until combined - 2 minutes, speed 5
  9. Strain the mixture through a muslin cloth into a jug and let cool
  10. Pour the shrub into sterilised bottles
  11. Chill in the fridge until needed
  12. Use as desired
