These tasty, lightly spiced biscuits are easy to make for Halloween and have an interesting history for their origin. Originally made for All Soul’s Day, a day to celebrate and commemorate the dead. The giving and receiving of soul cakes is known to be the origin of trick or treating. You can also make these biscuits for Samhain, a pagan festival to mark the start of the winter.
