A classic dish of the Sicilian cuisine, here is a version used by my family and more precisely my mother-in-law, who succeeded in making even me love this dish, which I had not eaten before. An easy and tasty recipe to realise. The secret of its success is to make the sauce stick to the pasta, not come away from it. You can replace sardines with anchovies; I use small sardines which, for me, are just perfect! For this recipe, after draining the fennel you can reserve the cooking water to use in later stages when it refers to adding water. User generated recipes have not been re-tested by Kenwood.
