Step preview

  1. Line a clean loaf pan with parchment paper
  2. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  3. Add earl grey teabag, water and dried mixed fruit to a clean jug
  4. Let rest - 5 min
  5. Discard the tea bags but keep the fruit and water
  6. Attach K Beater
  7. Add muscovado sugar, plain flour, baking powder, mixed spice, salt and orange to the Kenwood Bowl
  8. Pour content of jug into Kenwood Bowl
  9. Mix - 2 min, Speed 1
  10. Then add egg to the Kenwood Bowl
  11. Mix - 2 min, Speed 1
  12. Transfer batter to loaf pan
  13. Bake - 1 hr, 180°C
  14. Add granulated sugar, orange peel and orange juice to a clean saucepan
  15. Heat gently until the sugar is dissolved
  16. Take the saucepan off the heat and let cool slightly
  17. Add granulated sugar to the saucepan
  18. Stir with tablespoon until combined
  19. Spoon the glaze over the still warm cake whilst in the tin
  20. Let cool
  21. Serve
