This steamed pudding takes a little more effort than a normal cake, but it is well worth it. Serve with chocolate sauce, cream, or custard.

Step preview
- Grease a clean pudding bowl
- Add butter, golden syrup and muscovado sugar to a clean saucepan
- Heat until melted - medium heat
- Attach K Beater
- Add milk, egg, cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, bicarbonate of soda, plain flour and baking powder to the Kenwood Bowl
- Transfer content of saucepan to Kenwood Bowl
- Mix - 1 min, Speed Min
- Transfer content of Kenwood Bowl to pudding bowl
- Lay a piece of foil on a work surface
- Lay a piece of parchment paper on top
- Fold a seam in the middle
- Place over the pudding bowl, foil side up
- Tie a piece of string around the bowl, use more string to make a handle on top of the bowl
- Place the pudding bowl into a large saucepan
- Pour hot water into the saucepan so it reaches halfway up the pudding bowl
- Place the saucepan on a medium high heat so the water simmers and cover with a lid
- Steam - 1 hr 15 min
- Serve
