Sweet fried dough balls for the Carnival celebrations. The dough will be quite soft and also very sticky. If you find it difficult to handle, use a little flour on your hands but the flour should not be visible on the surface of the dough balls. User generated recipes have not been re-tested by Kenwood.

Step preview

  1. Fit midi blade to kCook bowl
  2. Add potato starch, italian 00 flour, caster sugar, baking powder, lemon and orange to the kCook bowl
  3. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  4. Attach lid to kCook bowl with filler cap fitted
  5. Mix with filler cap fitted - 30 sec, speed 7
  6. Then add ricotta cheese, butter, egg yolk and fruit liqueur to the kCook bowl
  7. Mix with filler cap fitted - 15 sec, speed 7
  8. Mix with filler cap fitted - 1 min, speed 10
  9. Line a clean work surface with plastic wrap
  10. Transfer content of kCook bowl to work surface
  11. Form into a ball
  12. Wrap with plastic wrap
  13. Chill in fridge - 1 hr
  14. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  15. Roll into balls until 2cm round
  16. Heat a clean fryer
  17. Add caster sugar to a clean medium bowl then set aside
  18. Transfer dough balls to fryer
  19. Fry until golden brown - approx 2 min
  20. Remove with slotted spoon and remove excess liquid
  21. Transfer dough balls to medium bowl
  22. Coat until covered
  23. Transfer dough balls to serving plate
  24. Repeat with the rest
  25. Let cool
  26. Serve
