This simple recipe for coconut macaroons is great for getting kids involved in baking, or for when you need some sweet gluten free treats for friends and family. They are moist and chewy on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside with the added bonus of being dipped in dark chocolate for an extra treat.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 160°C
  2. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper then set aside
  3. Attach Whisk
  4. Add egg white, caster sugar, vanilla extract and almond extract to the Kenwood Bowl
  5. Whisk - approx 2 min, Speed Max
  6. Attach K Beater
  7. Add dessicated coconut to the Kenwood Bowl
  8. Mix until well combined - Speed Min
  9. Remove the chef mixer bowl from the machine
  10. Press the mixture into small bite size balls with your hands
  11. Transfer balls to baking sheet
  12. Bake until golden brown - 20 min, 160°C
  13. Let cool
  14. Attach Creaming beater
  15. Add dark chocolate to the EasyWarm Bowl
  16. Mix until completely melted - 10 min, 7, Stir 1
  17. Dip each one of the macaroons in the melted chocolate
  18. Place onto a lined baking tray or silicone mat
  19. Let cool until set
  20. Serve
