This brilliantly pink homemade sorbet is perfect for a dinner party. You can swap the vodka for gin or leave out the alcohol altogether. For a fantastic shade of pink use pink forced rhubarb.

Step preview

  1. Fit max blade to kCook bowl
  2. Add rhubarb, caster sugar, water, glucose syrup, vanilla extract and star anise pod to the kCook bowl

  4. Attach lid to kCook bowl
  5. Cook with filler cap removed - 10 min, 98°C, speed 3
  6. Remove the star anise pods
  7. Blend with filler cap fitted - 2 min, speed 12
  8. Strain content of kCook bowl into large mixing bowl
  9. Add lemon and vodka to the large mixing bowl
  10. Mix until combined
  11. Pour content of large mixing bowl into plastic container
  12. Cover
  13. Chill in fridge until cold
  14. Freeze overnight
  15. Serve
