A sweet, salty, buttery ice cream that is perfect served with caramel sauce whilst watching a film! You can make your own popcorn to use in this recipe by using the popcorn preset.

Step preview

  1. Attach the Stir Tool and Stir Assist Clip
  2. Add whole milk, whipping cream and popcorn to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Cook with splashguard fitted - 3 min, 85°C, Stir 1
  5. Infuse - approx 2 hr
  6. Strain milk mixture into jug
  7. Use a spatula to press down on the popcorn and squeeze out all the liquid
  8. Discard the popcorn
  9. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  10. Attach the Stir Tool and Whisk
  11. Add egg yolk, light brown sugar, vanilla extract and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  12. Transfer milk mixture to Cooking Chef XL Bowl while machine is running
  13. Whisk with splashguard fitted - 2 min, Speed 4
  14. Cook with splashguard fitted - 4 min, 95°C, Speed Min
  15. Cook with splashguard fitted - 6 min, 95°C, Speed 1
  16. Strain milk mixture into large mixing bowl
  17. Let cool completely
  18. Transfer milk mixture to plastic container and cover
  19. Freeze
  20. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  21. Attach the Whisk
  22. Transfer ice cream to Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  23. Whisk with splashguard fitted - 10 sec, Speed 1
  24. Transfer ice cream to plastic container
  25. Repeat this action 2 - 3 more times until set
  26. Serve
