Step preview

  1. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper then set aside
  2. Attach the Creaming Beater
  3. Add unsalted butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  4. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  5. Mix with splashguard fitted - 1 min, Speed 4
  6. Add egg, vanilla extract and red food dye to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl while machine is running
  7. Mix with splashguard fitted - 1 min, Speed 3
  8. Then sift all purpose flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt into the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  9. Mix with splashguard fitted - 1 min, Speed 2
  10. Roll into balls
  11. Add caster sugar to a clean small bowl
  12. Add icing sugar to a clean small bowl
  13. Roll the dough balls in the caster sugar first and then the icing sugar until coated
  14. Transfer balls to baking sheet
  15. Chill in fridge - 1 hr
  16. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  17. Remove the balls from the fridge
  18. Press down onto each dough ball to flatten slightly
  19. Sprinkle with icing sugar
  20. Bake - 12 min, 180°C
  21. Remove from oven and let cool
  22. Serve
