Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  2. Grease and line a clean swiss roll pan with parchment paper
  3. Fit whisk tool to kCook bowl
  4. Add egg, caster sugar and vanilla extract to the kCook bowl
  5. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  6. Attach lid to kCook bowl
  7. Whisk with filler cap removed - 7 min, speed 7
  8. Then add all purpose flour, cocoa powder and baking powder to the kCook bowl
  9. Whisk with filler cap removed - 1 min, speed 4
  10. Transfer batter to swiss roll pan
  11. Bake - 12 min, 180°C
  12. Let cool slightly
  13. Line a clean work surface with parchment paper
  14. Turn out cake onto work surface
  15. Remove carefully
  16. Roll into a log
  17. Let cool
  18. Clean kCook bowl
  19. Fit stir tool to kCook bowl
  20. Add frozen pitted sweet cherries, kirsch, orange, caster sugar, ground cloves, star anise pod and cinnamon stick to the kCook bowl
  21. Add cornflour and water to a clean small bowl
  22. Mix until dissolved
  23. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  24. Transfer cornflour mixture to kCook bowl
  25. Attach lid to kCook bowl
  26. Cook with filler cap removed - 10 min, 104°C, speed 1
  27. Transfer fruit to medium bowl then set aside
  28. Clean kCook bowl
  29. Fit whisk tool to kCook bowl
  30. Add whipping cream, vanilla extract and icing sugar to the kCook bowl
  31. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  32. Attach lid to kCook bowl
  33. Whisk with filler cap removed - 1 min 40 sec, speed 7
  34. Unroll gently
  35. Transfer cream to cake
  36. Spread until level
  37. Spoon fruit into cake
  38. Roll into a log
  39. Dust with icing sugar
  40. Serve
