Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  2. Grease and line a clean loaf pan with parchment paper then set aside
  3. Attach K Beater
  4. Add butter and caster sugar to the Kenwood bowl
  5. Mix with splashguard fitted then scrape bowl - approx 1 min, Speed 1
  6. Mix with splashguard fitted until light and fluffy - approx 2 min, Speed Max
  7. Then add egg to the Kenwood bowl
  8. Mix - approx 3 min, Speed 3
  9. Then add all purpose flour, lemon and baking soda to the Kenwood bowl
  10. Mix until combined - approx 30 sec, Speed Max
  11. Transfer content of Kenwood bowl to loaf pan
  12. Spread until level
  13. Bake - 50 min, 180°C
  14. Remove from oven and let cool
  15. Prick the warm cake all over the top with a skewer
  16. Add lemon and caster sugar to a clean small bowl
  17. Mix with tablespoon until sugar has dissolved
  18. Pour syrup into loaf pan
  19. Set aside and let cool
  20. Serve
