A deliciously moreish banana flapjack with dates and sultanas, which makes a satisfying mid-morning or afternoon snack. Store in an airtight container for up to five days or freeze in portions for another day.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 160°C
  2. Grease and line a clean square pan with parchment paper
  3. Attach the Creaming Beater
  4. Add non-dairy margarine and golden syrup to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  5. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  6. Heat with splashguard fitted until melted - 2 min, 60°C, Speed OFF
  7. Cook with splashguard fitted until smooth - 2 min, 60°C, Stir 1
  8. Then add banana, dates, sultanas, oats, ground cinnamon and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  9. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 1 min, Speed Min
  10. Transfer mixture to square pan
  11. Smooth until level
  12. Bake until light golden - 40 min, 160°C
  13. Remove from oven and let cool
  14. Turn out onto cooling rack
  15. Serve
