Savoury scones with chorizo, cheese and peppers, great for a picnic or lunch. If you do not have round cutters you can divide the dough by rolling out to 3cm thick and then simply slicing into equal shaped triangles or squares.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 220°C
  2. Flour a clean baking tray lightly
  3. Attach the Stir Tool
  4. Add oil to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  5. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  6. Heat with splashguard fitted until hot - 1 min, 120°C, Stir 1
  7. Then add chorizo, bell pepper and smoked paprika to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  8. Cook with splashguard fitted until browned - 3 min, 120°C, Stir 1
  9. Transfer mixture to small bowl
  10. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  11. Attach the K-Beater
  12. Add butter, all purpose flour and baking powder to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  13. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 2 min, Speed 1
  14. Then add manchego cheese to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  15. Transfer content of small bowl to Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  16. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 30 sec, Speed 1
  17. Then add milk to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  18. Mix with splashguard fitted until mixture comes together - 20 sec, Speed Max
  19. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  20. Roll out until 1" thick
  21. Cut out into rounds
  22. Transfer shaped dough to baking tray
  23. Brush with egg
  24. Sprinkle with cheese
  25. Bake until golden brown - 18 min, 220°C
  26. Transfer scones to cooling rack and let cool
  27. Serve
