This quick Tiramisu is a twist on the classic Italian dessert. It will make a perfect addition to a dinner party and impress your guests. You can use ready made sponge cake or make your own one. Cut out 12 x 3 cm rounds and 24 x 3.5 cm rounds from the sponge cake. Make an orange oolong by brewing 2 tsp of orange oolong tea in 250 ml of freshly boiled water, then let cool.

Step preview

  1. Attach the Creaming Beater
  2. Add mascarpone cheese to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted until softened then scrape bowl - 1 min, Speed 2
  5. Then add whipping cream, caster sugar and vanilla extract to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  6. Remove the Creaming Beater
  7. Attach the Whisk
  8. Whisk with splashguard fitted until thickened - 1 min 10 sec, Speed 6
  9. Spoon cream into piping bag then set aside
  10. Add orange oolong tea to a clean small bowl
  11. Add sponge cake to a clean cutting board
  12. Cut the sponge into round discs, approx 3cm and 3.5cm
  13. Place some of the sponge discs into the tea and soak briefly
  14. Place the soaked sponge discs on a plate or tray
  15. Repeat with the rest
  16. Add 2 tsp of the remaining tea into the base of each shot glass
  17. Add the smallest size sponge disc and press into the base of the shot glass
  18. Pipe a thin layer of the mascarpone cream then top with the larger size sponge disc
  19. Repeat this layering process twice more
  20. Level the top with a spatula
  21. Add chocolate shavings and orange zest to the cutting board
  22. Garnish each shot glass with chocolate shavings and orange zest
  23. Serve immediately
