This very easy gnocchi recipe is perfect to use with any sauce you would usually use with pasta. You can buy a gnocchi board to shape the dough, or you can use a fork. Boil the gnocchi in simmering water for 3 minutes or fry in a hot frying pan.

Step preview

  1. Add potato and water to a clean saucepan
  2. Heat until simmering - medium-high heat
  3. Cook until cooked through - 30 min
  4. Drain potatoes into colander
  5. Attach K Beater
  6. Transfer potatoes to Kenwood Bowl
  7. Add italian 00 flour, ground nutmeg, salt and black pepper to the Kenwood Bowl
  8. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 1 min, Speed 1
  9. Then add egg to the Kenwood Bowl
  10. Mix with splashguard fitted until well combined - 2 min, Speed 1
  11. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  12. Take a portion of the dough
  13. Roll into a log until 2cm thick
  14. Cut into pieces
  15. Using a gnocchi board or a fork, shape the gnocchi by rolling it down the board or the tines of the fork
  16. Repeat the same with the remaining dough
