Step preview

  1. Line a clean baking tray with parchment paper
  2. Sift all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda into a clean bowl
  3. Attach K Beater
  4. Transfer flour mixture to Kenwood Bowl
  5. Add caster sugar, egg, milk and vegetable oil to the Kenwood Bowl
  6. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 2 min, Speed 2
  7. Add water to the Kenwood Bowl gradually while machine is running
  8. Mix with splashguard fitted until well combined - 2 min, Speed 2
  9. Transfer batter to baking tray
  10. Bake until skewer tests clean - 30 min, 180°C
  11. Remove from oven and let cool
  12. Cut the sponge into 2 cm cubes and set aside
  13. Add hazelnut chocolate spread to a clean medium bowl then set aside
  14. Clean Kenwood Bowl
  15. Attach Whisk
  16. Add whipping cream to the Kenwood Bowl
  17. Whisk with splashguard fitted until soft peaks form - 2 min, Speed 4
  18. Transfer 3 tablespoons of whipped cream into the medium bowl
  19. Mix until combined
  20. Fold the rest of cream into chocolate mixture
  21. Transfer chocolate mixture to piping bag
  22. Place the chocolate sponge pieces at the bottom of the dessert glasses
  23. Pipe chocolate mixture onto sponge
  24. Sprinkle with hazelnuts
  25. Repeat this process to create another layer
  26. Clean Kenwood Bowl
  27. Attach Whisk
  28. Add whipping cream and icing sugar to the Kenwood Bowl
  29. Mix with splashguard fitted until stiff peaks form - 4 min, Speed 4
  30. Transfer cream to piping bag
  31. Pipe cream onto chocolate mixture
  32. Decorate with hazelnuts and chocolate
  33. Serve
