Spätzle is a pasta dish, served in the south of Germany. The dough is very wet and sticky when prepared, so to shape the dough, you'll require a 'Spätzlehobel'. More advanced cooks can also cut the spätzle using a chopping board and a spatula: add some of the dough to the chopping board and spread it thinly over the board's surface. Hold the board over the boiling water and scratch a small amount of dough into the boiling water, using the spatula. Continue until all the dough is used up. Serve as a side to a roast or as a main course with a gooey cheese sauce. User generated recipes have not been re-tested by Kenwood.
