Surprise your other half and loved ones with these adorable Valentine's Day brownies. Try making a batch of these velvety, rich brownies served with pink buttercream stars and sprinkles. We have used sprinkles to decorate the brownies, however, you can use chocolate decorations if you prefer.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  2. Grease and line a clean square pan with parchment paper
  3. Attach the K-Beater
  4. Add dark chocolate, butter, light brown sugar and caster sugar to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  5. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  6. Heat with splashguard fitted until melted - 10 min, 80°C, Speed Min
  7. Mix with splashguard fitted - 5 min, Speed 1
  8. Add egg to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl gradually while machine is running
  9. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 1 min, Speed 1
  10. Then add all purpose flour and cocoa powder to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  11. Mix with splashguard fitted until well combined - 1 min, Speed 1
  12. Pour mixture into square pan then set aside
  13. Add dark chocolate to a clean heatproof bowl
  14. Microwave in microwave until melted while stirring frequently
  15. Pour chocolate into square pan
  16. Bake until skewer tests clean - 20 min, 180°C
  17. Remove from oven and let cool
  18. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  19. Attach the Creaming Beater
  20. Add butter, icing sugar and red food coloring to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  21. Mix with splashguard fitted until light and fluffy - 3 min, Speed 3
  22. Transfer mixture to piping bag
  23. Transfer brownies to cutting board
  24. Cut into squares
  25. Pipe buttercream onto brownies
  26. Decorate with sprinkles
  27. Serve
