Step preview

  1. Line a clean baking tray with parchment paper then set aside
  2. Attach the Dough Tool
  3. Add dried yeast, water, salt and Type 0 Italian flour to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  4. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  5. Knead with splashguard fitted - 15 min, Speed 1
  6. Remove the Dough Tool
  7. Prove with splashguard fitted - 35 min, 35°C, Speed OFF
  8. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  9. Fold the dough over two or three times
  10. Divide into 4 equal pieces
  11. Shape into a baguette
  12. Transfer shaped dough to baking tray
  13. Cover with kitchen towel
  14. Prove - 30 min
  15. Pre-heat oven - 235°C
  16. Remove the kitchen towel and cover the baguettes with a baking cloth
  17. Place the drip tray at the bottom of the oven, and a shelf in the middle
  18. Pour the contents of a glass of water over the hot oven tray before closing the oven door quickly
  19. This will create the steam needed to get a nice crusty bread
  20. Make 4 diagonal cuts on the top of the bread with a sharp knife
  21. Bake - 10 min, 235°C
  22. Let cool onto cooling rack
  23. Serve
