Show your love with these super cute heart shaped biscuits. Lemon flavoured biscuits sandwiched with a light lemon buttercream and finished with white chocolate. These are super easy to make and perfect as an afternoon treat.

Step preview

  1. Line a clean baking tray with parchment paper
  2. Attach Creaming beater
  3. Add butter and caster sugar to the Kenwood Bowl
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted - 3 min, Speed 4
  5. Then add egg, lemon and salt to the Kenwood Bowl
  6. Mix with splashguard fitted - 2 min, Speed 1
  7. Sift all purpose flour and baking powder into a clean large mixing bowl
  8. Transfer flour mixture to Kenwood Bowl
  9. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 1 min, Speed 1
  10. Then add red food coloring to the Kenwood Bowl
  11. Mix with splashguard fitted until well combined - 2 min, Speed Min
  12. Remove the dough from the Kenwood Bowl
  13. Wrap with plastic wrap
  14. Refrigerate - 20 min
  15. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  16. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  17. Roll out until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  18. Using a heart shaped cutter or a heart shaped stencil, cut out 5cm heart shapes
  19. Transfer biscuits to baking tray
  20. Bake until light golden - 6 min, 180°C
  21. Remove from oven and let cool
  22. Clean Kenwood Bowl
  23. Attach Creaming beater
  24. Add butter to the Kenwood Bowl
  25. Mix with splashguard fitted - 3 min, Speed Max
  26. Then add icing sugar and lemon to the Kenwood Bowl
  27. Mix with splashguard fitted until smooth - 3 min, Speed Max
  28. Transfer mixture to piping bag
  29. Pipe icing onto biscuits
  30. Place another biscuit on top
  31. Add white chocolate to a clean heatproof bowl
  32. Microwave in microwave until melted while stirring frequently
  33. Transfer chocolate to piping bag
  34. Pipe chocolate onto biscuits
  35. Serve
