Step preview

  1. Grease a clean tart tin
  2. Attach the K-Beater
  3. Add butter, all purpose flour, icing sugar, ground almonds and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  4. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  5. Mix with splashguard fitted until light and fluffy - 5 min, Speed 1
  6. Add egg to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl gradually while machine is running
  7. Mix with splashguard fitted until mixture comes together - 30 sec, Speed 2
  8. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  9. Shape into a ball
  10. Wrap with plastic wrap
  11. Chill in fridge - 1 hr
  12. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  13. Roll out until 3mm thick
  14. Transfer pastry to tart tin
  15. Prick the base of the pastry with a fork
  16. Refrigerate in fridge - 20 min
  17. Pre-heat oven - 170°C
  18. Retrieve the chilled pastry from the fridge
  19. Line with parchment paper
  20. Fill the pastry with baking beans
  21. Bake - 20 min, 170°C
  22. Remove from oven
  23. Remove the parchment paper and baking beans
  24. Bake - 5 min, 170°C
  25. Remove from oven and let cool
  26. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  27. Attach the Whisk
  28. Add egg to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  29. Mix with splashguard fitted - 20 sec, Speed 4
  30. Then add whipping cream, caster sugar and lemon to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  31. Mix with splashguard fitted until well combined - 30 sec, Speed 6
  32. Transfer mixture to jug
  33. Pour content of jug into tart tin carefully
  34. Place the tart tin in the oven
  35. Pour the remaining mixture into tart tin
  36. Bake until just set - 30 min, 170°C
  37. Remove from oven and let cool
  38. Dust with icing sugar
  39. Serve
