Step preview

  1. Attach the Dough Tool
  2. Add fresh yeast and milk to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted - 3 min, 37°C, Speed Min
  5. Then add egg, all purpose flour, sugar and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  6. Knead with splashguard fitted - 3 min, Speed Min
  7. Then add butter to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  8. Knead with splashguard fitted - 8 min, Speed 1
  9. The dough should come away from the sides of the bowl easily, if not add more flour
  10. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  11. Shape into a ball
  12. Cover with kitchen towel
  13. Prove - 1 hr
  14. Roll out until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  15. Cut into strips
  16. Cut into rectangles
  17. Make a hole in the middle of the little rectangles
  18. Take one rectangle, push one end through the hole and pull gently to create a loose knot
  19. Line a clean serving plate with paper towels
  20. Add vegetable oil to a clean frying pan
  21. Heat in frying pan - medium-high heat
  22. Transfer doughnuts to frying pan one by one
  23. Transfer doughnuts to serving plate
  24. When the oil has been absorbed, transfer the bugnes to a serving plate
  25. Sprinkle with icing sugar
  26. Serve
