Make this delicious chocolate tart with pecan pie mix ahead of time for any occasion. These tarts will keep for up to 3 days - if they don’t all get eaten before! They can be served warm or cold, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.

Step preview

  1. Grease 6 clean small tart pans
  2. Attach Creaming beater
  3. Add butter and icing sugar to the Kenwood Bowl
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted then scrape bowl - 3 min, Speed 4
  5. Then add egg and salt to the Kenwood Bowl
  6. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined then scrape bowl - 2 min, Speed 2
  7. Then add all purpose flour and cocoa powder to the Kenwood Bowl
  8. Mix with splashguard fitted until mixture comes together - 2 min, Speed Min
  9. Transfer dough to work surface
  10. Wrap with plastic wrap
  11. Chill in fridge - 20 min
  12. Pre-heat oven - 170°C
  13. Clean Kenwood Bowl
  14. Attach K Beater
  15. Add golden syrup, light brown sugar, pecans, egg, butter, vanilla extract and salt to the Kenwood Bowl
  16. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined then set aside - 2 min, Speed Min
  17. Retrieve the chilled pastry from the fridge
  18. Transfer pastry to lightly floured surface
  19. Roll out until 2mm thick
  20. Transfer pastry to 6 small tart pans
  21. Pour content of Kenwood Bowl into 6 small tart pans
  22. Decorate with pecans
  23. Place the tartlet tins on the baking tray
  24. Bake - 25 min, 170°C
  25. Remove from oven and let cool
  26. Serve
