Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  2. Line a clean baking tray with parchment paper then set aside
  3. Attach the K-Beater
  4. Add brown sugar and all purpose flour to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  5. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  6. Mix with splashguard fitted - 1 min, Speed 1
  7. Then add butter to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  8. Mix with splashguard fitted - 1 min, Speed 1
  9. Then add milk to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  10. Mix with splashguard fitted - 2 min, Speed 3
  11. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  12. Roll out into a rectangle until 1 cm thick
  13. Transfer shaped dough to baking tray
  14. Bake until light golden - 20 min, 180°C
  15. Remove from oven and continue
  16. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  17. Attach the Stir Tool
  18. Add sweetened condensed milk, butter, maple syrup and caster sugar to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  19. Cook with splashguard fitted - 1 min 30 sec, 150°C, Speed 1
  20. Mix with splashguard fitted until thickened - 2 min, Speed 4
  21. Transfer caramel to baking tray
  22. Spread the caramel over the shortbread
  23. Chill in fridge - 1 hr
  24. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  25. Attach the Stir Tool
  26. Add dark chocolate to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl and continue
  27. Add whipping cream to a clean saucepan
  28. Heat until just boiling and turn off heat - medium-high heat
  29. Pour cream into Cooking Chef XL Bowl while machine is running
  30. Mix with splashguard fitted - 3 min, Stir 1
  31. Set aside and let cool
  32. Transfer chocolate to baking tray
  33. Spread the chocolate over the caramel layer
  34. Chill overnight in fridge
  35. Remove from fridge
  36. Cut into squares
  37. Serve
