Dorayaki is a type of Japanese confection that is wildly popular amongst children and adults alike in Japan. It consists of two small pancakes, sandwiched with a variety of fillings (red bean paste, chocolate spread, custard). We have used chocolate spread as our choice of filling; however, you can use any filling you desire

- 1 teaspoon

- 100 g

Step preview
- Attach Whisk
- Add egg, caster sugar, honey and water to the Kenwood Bowl
- Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 1 min, Speed Max
- Then sift all purpose flour and baking powder into the Kenwood Bowl
- Mix with splashguard fitted until well combined - 30 sec, Speed Max
- Transfer mixture to jug
- Cover with plastic wrap
- Chill in fridge - 15 min
- Retrieve the jug from the fridge
- Heat a clean frying pan - medium-low heat
- Grease with vegetable oil
- Spoon some of the batter into frying pan
- Cook each side until golden brown - 1 min
- Transfer the pancake onto a serving plate
- Repeat the same process with the rest of the batter
- Take one pancake
- Spread with chocolate spread evenly
- Place another pancake on top
- Repeat with remaining pancakes
- Serve
