Step preview

  1. Grease and line a clean baking tray with parchment paper
  2. Assemble the Food Processor attachment to the machine
  3. Fit the knife blade to the Food Processor bowl
  4. Add ground almonds and icing sugar to the Food processor attachment
  5. Attach the lid and ensure it is locked into place
  6. Blend until powdery
  7. Remove the attachment from the machine
  8. Sift mixture into medium bowl then set aside
  9. Attach the Whisk
  10. Add egg white to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  11. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  12. Whisk with splashguard fitted until foamy - 1 min, Speed Max
  13. Then add cream of tartar and pink food coloring to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  14. Mix with splashguard fitted - 30 sec, Speed Min
  15. Add caster sugar to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl gradually while machine is running
  16. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 5 min, Speed Max
  17. Retrieve the almond and icing sugar mixture
  18. Fold one third of mixture into meringue
  19. Fold the rest of mixture into meringue
  20. Fold until the mixture resembles flowing lava and be able to fall into a figure eight without breaking
  21. Transfer mixture to piping bag
  22. Pipe mixture onto baking tray into rounds
  23. Tap the baking tray on a counter gently several times to release any air bubbles
  24. Let rest - 1 hr
  25. Pre-heat oven - 150°C
  26. Bake - 15 min, 150°C
  27. Remove from oven and let cool
  28. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  29. Attach the Creaming Beater
  30. Add butter to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  31. Mix with splashguard fitted - 2 min, Speed Max
  32. Then add icing sugar to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  33. Mix with splashguard fitted - 3 min, Speed Max
  34. Transfer buttercream to piping bag
  35. Pipe the buttercream on half of the macaron shells
  36. Top with the remaining macaron shells to form a sandwich
  37. Serve
