Step preview

  1. Grease a clean pudding bowl
  2. Attach Creaming beater
  3. Add dark chocolate, all purpose flour, muscovado sugar, cocoa powder, glace cherries, sultanas, currants, raisins, green apple, sunflower oil, treacle, kirsch, egg, mixed spice and salt to the Kenwood Bowl
  4. Mix until combined then scrape bowl - 30 sec, Speed Min
  5. Mix until combined - 10 sec, Speed Min
  6. Pour mixture into pudding bowl
  7. Grease a square of foil and lay a square of parchment paper over the top
  8. Make a crease through the middle of the foil and paper
  9. Lay the foil and paper on top of the pudding bowl, paper side down
  10. Tie a string around the pudding bowl, then tie more over the top of the bowl to make a handle
  11. Place a trivet or upturned saucer into the base of the large saucepan
  12. Transfer pudding bowl to large saucepan
  13. Fill with water
  14. Heat until boiling - high heat
  15. Simmer then set aside - 2 hr 30 min, medium-low heat
  16. Let cool slightly - 10 min
  17. Remove the parchment paper and foil
  18. Place a serving plate on top of the bowl
  19. Invert the bowl to release the pudding onto the plate
  20. Serve
