A simple, tasty tart, perfect served warm or at room temperature for a light lunch spread. The liquid leftover from the tomatoes can be strained and re-used as a flavoured oil for salads or marinades.

Step preview

  1. Attach the Stir Tool
  2. Add mixed cherry tomatoes, olive oil, garlic clove and fresh basil leaves to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Cook - 10 min, 105°C, Stir 2
  5. Cook with splashguard fitted - 10 min, 110°C, Stir 2
  6. Transfer tomato mixture to large mixing bowl
  7. Let cool - 10 min
  8. Carefully pour away the excess liquid and discard the basil
  9. Pre-heat oven - 200°C
  10. Brush a clean tart tin with butter
  11. Add balsamic vinegar, sugar, fresh basil leaves, fine sea salt and black pepper to the large mixing bowl
  12. Stir gently until combined
  13. Place puff pastry on a clean lightly floured surface
  14. Roll out until 1 cm thick
  15. Transfer pastry to tart tin
  16. Pour tomato mixture into pastry
  17. Brush with egg
  18. Bake - 30 min, 200°C
  19. Remove from oven and let cool - 5 min
  20. Top with goat cheese
  21. Serve
