  1. Attach the Dough Tool
  2. Add unsalted butter, milk and water to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Heat with splashguard fitted - 8 min, 40°C, Stir 2
  5. Then add active dried yeast, egg, all purpose flour and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  6. Mix with splashguard fitted then scrape bowl - 2 min, Speed Min
  7. Mix with splashguard fitted - 1 min, Speed Min
  8. Mix with splashguard fitted - 9 min, Speed 1
  9. Remove the Dough Tool
  10. Prove with splashguard fitted - 1 hr, 30°C, Speed OFF
  11. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  12. Divide into 16 equal pieces
  13. Flatten into rectangles
  14. Roll into logs
  15. Braid each log by folding in the middle and overlapping each side on top of each other
  16. Place shaped dough on baking tray
  17. Cover with kitchen towel
  18. Let rest - 30 min
  19. Line a clean plate with paper towels
  20. Add vegetable oil to a clean large saucepan
  21. Heat - medium heat
  22. Working in batches, carefully place the shaped dough into the saucepan
  23. Fry until golden brown - 2 min
  24. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the doughnuts onto the plate to drain
  25. Add caster sugar to a clean large mixing bowl
  26. Toss the doughnuts in sugar until coated
  27. Serve
