Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  2. Grease and line a clean square pan with parchment paper
  3. Attach K Beater
  4. Add unsalted butter and golden caster sugar to the Kenwood bowl
  5. Mix with splashguard fitted - 3 min, Speed 2
  6. Then add all purpose flour, baking powder, egg and lemon to the Kenwood bowl
  7. Mix with splashguard fitted - 2 min, Speed 2
  8. Pour mixture into square pan
  9. Bake - 40 min, 180°C
  10. Remove from oven and let cool
  11. Clean Kenwood Bowl
  12. Attach K Beater
  13. Add unsalted butter, icing sugar, lemon juice and vanilla extract to the Kenwood bowl
  14. Mix with splashguard fitted then scrape bowl - 1 min, Speed Min
  15. Mix with splashguard fitted - 4 min, Speed 3
  16. Transfer icing to cake
  17. Spread
  18. Serve
