Step preview

  1. Attach the K-Beater
  2. Add all purpose flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, cacao powder, baking powder, salt, water, egg and butter to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted - 30 sec, Speed 2
  5. Transfer dough to work surface
  6. Wrap with plastic wrap
  7. Chill in fridge - 30 min
  8. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  9. Attach the Creaming Beater
  10. Add butter to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  11. Heat with splashguard fitted until melted - 2 min, 38°C, Speed 2
  12. Transfer content of Cooking Chef XL Bowl to small bowl
  13. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  14. Attach the Whisk
  15. Add quark cheese, sugar, egg and custard powder to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  16. Mix with splashguard fitted - 2 min, Speed 1
  17. Transfer content of small bowl to Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  18. Mix with splashguard fitted until smooth - 1 min, Speed 1
  19. Pre-heat oven - 175°C
  20. Cover work surface with parchment paper
  21. Sprinkle with all purpose flour
  22. Place 600 g of the dough on the parchment paper and roll out, until about 38 cm in diameter
  23. Grease a clean springform pan
  24. Transfer dough to springform pan
  25. Line springform with the rolled out dough
  26. Line the edges until about 4 - 5 cm high and trim away any excess pastry
  27. Transfer mixture to springform pan
  28. Spread until level
  29. Shape the leftover pieces of dough by hand or roll out and cut out pieces with a cookie cutter
  30. Decorate cake with the shaped pieces of dough
  31. Bake - 1 hr 15 min, 175°C
  32. When done, switch off the oven and let the cake cool in the warm oven for about 5 to 10 minutes
  33. Place cake on a cooling rack
  34. Dust with icing sugar
  35. Serve
