Step preview

  1. Place the Frozen Dessert Maker attachment in the freezer 24 hours in advance
  2. Add whole milk, whipping cream and loose Earl Grey tea to a clean large saucepan
  3. Heat until boiling - medium-high heat
  4. Strain mixture into jug and let cool
  5. Attach Whisk
  6. Add egg yolk and caster sugar to the Kenwood Bowl
  7. Whisk with splashguard fitted then scrape bowl - 2 min, Speed 4
  8. Whisk with splashguard fitted - 2 min, Speed 4
  9. Pour milk mixture into Kenwood Bowl slowly while machine is running
  10. Whisk with splashguard fitted until combined - 20 sec, Speed Min
  11. Transfer mixture to large saucepan
  12. Simmer until thickened - low heat
  13. Strain mixture into jug and let cool
  14. Attach the Frozen Dessert Maker attachment to the machine
  15. Set the speed to Min
  16. Pour custard into Frozen Dessert Maker attachment carefully
  17. Mix - 30 min
  18. Remove the attachment from the machine
  19. Transfer mixture to airtight container
  20. Cover with a lid
  21. Freeze overnight until solid
  22. Serve
