Toasting whole spices releases their aromatic oils and intensifies their flavour, which is essential when using shop-bought spices (which tend to be less fresh) so don’t skip this step! This delicious, spiced salt, inspired by Indian masala mixes, is excellent used to add a warmth to any dish, and makes a great gift too. This will fill approx. 350ml jar.

  1. Pre-heat a medium frying pan – medium heat
  2. Add the ingredients into the frying pan
  3. Toast, stirring constantly, until fragrant – 2 minutes
  4. Add the toasted spices to the mill jar
  5. Attach the Mini Chopper attachment to the machine
  6. Blend until finely ground – 1 minute, speed 3
  7. Then add the ingredients
  8. Mix until well combined – 10 seconds, speed Min
  9. Remove the attachment from the machine
  10. Transfer the mixture into a jar and seal tightly until needed
