Hazelnut gelato is a staple at every Italian gelateria, usually made with top quality pure hazelnut paste from Piemonte. Smooth and nutty, this gelato has a rich, almost chocolaty flavour, and is incredibly easy to make at home. Dextrose powder helps to create the gloriously dense, smooth texture of traditional gelato, but don’t worry if you can’t find it – simply replace with the same weight of sugar. Remember to place the bowl in the freezer 24 hours in advance.
